Atlasphere Search is a specialist recruitment company focused on the engineering, construction and mining sectors, including renewable energy and data centres. We connect businesses with the people who design, build and manage projects, from site supervisors through to senior executives.

Mining and resources
Mining is at the core of what we do. Stephanie Toft comes from a mining background, has built a strong network across the African mining industry, and has recruited for mining clients across Africa and Europe since 2020.
We place people from the exploration stage through to operating mines and processing plants, for owners, contractors and the engineering firms that serve them.

How we work
Two ways to hire, and one consultant from brief to start date.
Permanent and executive search
We take a proper brief, search the market and our networks, interview and check every candidate, and present a short list of people who fit the role and the team.
Contract and project placements
For a fixed project or a defined period, Atlasphere employs the contractor and places them with you. You receive one monthly invoice and we handle the employment, payroll and paperwork.
Every candidate is checked before you see them: references, qualifications, identity and professional registration are part of our service. Where a role needs a paid check, such as a medical or criminal record check, we arrange it at cost.
We would rather send you three people worth meeting than ten CVs to sort through.

Stephanie Toft
Director · Engineering, Mining and Executive Search
Stephanie leads client relationships and recruitment at Atlasphere Search, bringing over 15 years of recruitment experience. Having worked for an EPCM company and a local construction company, she has a hands-on background and a real understanding of how projects run.
She founded and successfully sold her own recruitment agency, and has extensive experience in local and international recruitment, sourcing and placing skilled professionals across South Africa, Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
Her expertise spans engineering, mining, construction and executive search, from technical specialists and project professionals through to senior management and executive leadership.
Ross Thompson
Director
Ross has worked in recruitment and staffing since 2010, and construction and engineering recruitment is where he built his career.
- General Manager of a recruitment and labour hire business in New South Wales, 2010 to 2012
- Founder, owner and Director of his own construction and engineering recruitment business in Australia, 2012 to 2021

Ross also leads specialist staffing businesses operating across Australia, South Africa and the UK, and brings that cross-border experience to Atlasphere’s international work.
